Today a domestic disaster was avoided when the customer called us instead of DIY stain removal!
We received a text early this morning from a customer who had accidentally spilt red wine on his white pure wool carpet last night.
The customer did exactly the right thing at the time of the spillage, instead of attacking the spillage with every household product under the kitchen sink, he simply blotted the area with a towel, cleaned up the broken glass and contacted a professional.
Lets look at the picture:
At the top of the picture you can clearly see the damage caused by the wine spillage, this photo was taken upon arrival.
The stain had occurred over a six hour period, unfortunately the wool carpet was not protected with a stain shield so the colour had indeed stained the fibres.
You will also see that the general area is quite badly soiled as it was the main carpeted traffic lane into the room.
We promptly removed a table which had left a crush mark in the carpet which is just to the right of the larger stain.
Being WoolSafe registered operators, we used the safest WoolSafe approved products to remove the stain which had actually damaged the white carpet fibres.
Stain removal obviously requires the right equipment, skill and a lot of patients!
As we continued to apply our stain removal products to the effected areas of the carpet, you will see from the bottom photos the colour of the stain changing.
After about 90 mins of treatment we then cleaned the carpet and applied our dri pods to accelerate the drying process, the middle picture shows a clean, stain free pure wool carpet!
