Our Exterior Cleaning Process

Chemical pre-treatment - we apply professional-grade biocidal treatments to kill moss, algae, lichen and organic growth at the root before any pressure washing begins
High or low-pressure cleaning - matched to the surface type; delicate natural stone gets a softer approach than concrete or block paving, protecting the surface finish
Detail cleaning - tight joints, edges and corners are cleaned by hand where necessary
Re-sanding and sealing (block paving) - polymeric sand is re-applied to the joints and a sealant is applied to lock it in place, prevent future weed growth and give a lasting finish
Post-treatment - a residual algae inhibitor is applied to slow regrowth and extend the life of the clean

How often should I have my patio or driveway professionally cleaned?

Most outdoor surfaces benefit from a professional clean every one to two years, depending on how shaded the area is, the type of surface, and how quickly organic growth takes hold. Shaded, north-facing areas typically need more regular attention.

Will pressure washing damage my patio or block paving?

In the wrong hands, yes. High-pressure washing on soft natural stone or poorly pointed block paving can dislodge sand, erode joint edges and damage surface texture. We match the pressure and technique to the surface type, and we always inspect the joint condition before starting.

Do you re-sand block paving after cleaning?

Yes, cleaning block paving washes out the kiln-dried jointing sand between the blocks. We refill the joints with polymeric jointing sand as standard, which sets firm, resists washing out and deters weeds.

Can you seal my patio or driveway after cleaning?

Yes, sealing is available as an optional additional service. A quality sealant applied to a freshly cleaned surface helps lock out moisture, protects against staining, and significantly slows the return of organic growth.
