on siteRug Cleaning… the correct way to clean a rug on site
Well we first brushed this rug using our Pro35 carpet pile lifting and soil collection machine before we vacuumed.
Over 80% of the dry soils can be successfully removed from carpets and rugs before wetting the carpet!
Some other carpet cleaners over compensate for lack of preparation by relying on the in tank detergents and high volumes of water when flushing the carpet, all this does is over wet the carpet and increases the risks of shrinkage, plus you have carpets which literately take days to dry and smells damp!
Our methods allow us to use the minimal amount of water to flush the already loosened soils which have been chemically and mechanically released from the carpet fibres.
On site rug cleaning is something we usually do as an addition whilst working on upholstery or carpet cleaning, for example the rug in the video is probably worth no more than £60 to buy new, it wouldn’t make much sense to spend any more that what it costs to clean it.
For more valuable rugs we can remove them from the property and take them to a special rug cleaning plant, where they are fully submerged in a bath to soak, this releases the soils plus any liquids which may of been dropped on the rug.
Once cleaned we deliver the rug back to the customer.
In our experience some carpet cleaners who “claim” they can clean rugs have no idea what they are doing, most will over wet the rug or use completely the wrong chemicals which can lead to the colours bleeding.
