Are your office chairs in need of a deep clean?
One of the most overlooked pieces of furniture we never think about cleaning is going to be the one we spend most time sat on!
Believe it or not but the office can actually be a really unhealthy place to be, especially if the carpet and seating is not being correctly maintained.
Regular vacuuming is always advised to keep soil levels to a minimal, here is a simple test you can carry out in your own office:
- Position your chair in a well lit room
- Strike the based fabric with your hand
If you see a plume of dust escape from the material you really need to be having a word with your facilities manager!
Check out the above pictures, we have all seen this type of seating around the office, the left picture shows the chair before we cleaned it, lots of drink and food spillages and a whole lot of dust!
After a thorough vacuum we managed to remove the dry soil, it was time to move on and spot those drinks spillages using a special anti-bacterial cleaner to break down any nasties which may of been present.
A dedicated pre cleaner was then applied to break down the bond between the soil and fibres, this also deals with body oils including sweat.
Using our truck mounted upholstery cleaning system, we then extracted the material leaving it clean, fresh and slightly damp.
Drying times would usually be around an hour
