Sealing and Protecting New Vinyl Flooring

Your new floor installation has not been finished until we have finished it!

Once your new flooring has been installed we can deep clean it to remove glue residues and soil left by the installers, we then apply a super durable sealant to protect the surface of the tile for up to 18 months*

The sealant produces a beautiful finish, enhancing the colour of the tile, achieving a low sheen matt / satin appearance.

We will never make an expensive floor look cheap by using high gloss sealers!

Cleaning and Sealing Used Vinyl Flooring

Karndean, Amtico and other LVT flooring will eventually require cleaning and stripping to remove the worn sealant.

A powerful cleaning solution is applied to the flooring and scrubbed using a specialist vinyl floor cleaning machine to release the dirt, oils and remaining sealant. We then rinse the floor using steam boosted extraction equipment.

Once cleaning has been completed, we simply reapply several layers of a super durable satin finish sealant to further protect and enhance the colour of the tile for up to 18 months*

Vinyl Floor Restoration

When LVT flooring becomes scratched and scuffed we can restore the flooring using a restoration sealant that repairs the top layer of the tile.

A two-part polyurethane sealant with a special additive fills scratches and scuffs, creating a brand new ‘wear layer’.

Once the product has cured it will be resistant to abrasion and chemicals, improving the appearance and extending the life of the flooring for many years.

This service is a cost effective alternative to replacing the flooring, suitable for both domestic and commercial floors.

Commercial Vinyl Tile Sealing

Luxury vinyl tile flooring is now common in many commercial buildings such as car showrooms and hair salons.

This flooring will be subject to very heavy traffic, chemical spillages, rubber marking from tyres and abrasion from hair.

A typical commercial grade, vinyl tile has a factory applied protective layer thickness of around 0.5 microns. This layer has little resistance to abrasion, spillages and plasticisers that cause permanent staining and premature wear.

Commercial luxury vinyl tile can now be protected from new using Dr Schutz PU anti colour sealant.

  • Up to 10 times more resistance to shoe abrasion
  • Chemical & plasticiser resistant barrier
  • Sealing creates a more hygienic floor
  • Increase the life of the vinyl tiles up to 6 times
  • Anti slip product can be added to the sealant
  • A sealed floor is easier to clean
  • Available in mat, satin and gloss finishes
  • UV curing option – the floor is ready to use within hours

Here is a picture explaining the construction of a Milliken LVT tile, the urethane coating is the very top layer we can increase by up to 40 microns.

  1. Urethane Coating – 0.5 microns
  2. Transparent wear layer – 0.55 mm embossed, hard-wearing layer, provides long lasting appearance retention in heavy commercial traffic environments.

By applying the Dr Schutz PU anti colour sealant, we can increase the protective layer thickness to around 40 microns, achieving a floor that is totally resistant to rubber, hair dyes and disinfectants.

Commercial Flooring Refinishing

Commercial linoleum, marmoleum and vinyl flooring is extremely common in commercial buildings, commonly found in schools, collages and health centres.

After time this particular flooring can appear scratched and faded and no amount of cleaning and sealing will improve the appearance.

Replacing this flooring can be very expensive and time consuming, we also need to consider the negative impact to the environment as most of it ends up in landfill sites.

We now have a cost effective alternative available that recolours and refinishes in any colour the client desires!

Company logos, signs and lettering can even be applied to the refinished flooring for a unique, custom appearance.

    Our kitchen floor has lost its shine, can you help?

    Once we have deep cleaned the vinyl flooring, we then apply a hard wearing sealant which enhances the colour of the tile whilst providing a tasteful satin shine.

    How often should we get our Karndean flooring cleaned?

    This really depends on how the flooring is maintained and how it’s used. Heavy use may require a deep clean and re-seal every 6-12 months.

    Is it safe to use bleach on our flooring?

    Absolutely not! Always use the manufacturer’s recommended cleaning products and cleaning methods.

    Do we need to remove all the furniture from the flooring before you arrive?

    To achieve the best results possible we need to have access to all the flooring.
