Sofa Cleaning : Today we cleaned a lovely G-Plan 3 seater and recliner for a customer in Fleet, Hampshire.
On arrival I inspected the fabric to determine whether or not it was wet cleanable. It was 100% man made faux suede and moderately soiled.
The customer explained to me that she had previously used a very well known national franchise who came recommended by the retailer, however, she wasn’t particularly satisfied with the previous cleaning attempt.
All the cushions were removed and given a thorough vacuum and the frames were also vacuumed.
THE PREVIOUS CLEANING COMPANY DID NOT REMOVE OR VACUUM THE CUSHIONS OR FRAMES!
The second stage involved spotting any marks, followed by a citrus pre-spray to break down the grease and dirt.
The above picture shows part of the base cushion extracted, the colour restored and the dirt and grease removed. From start to finish this job took me 4 hours to complete, yet a multi stage clean ensured the final results were impressive!
All the cushions were turbo dried before I refitted them onto the frames.
THE PREVIOUS CLEANING COMPANY DID NOT TURBO DRY THE FURNITURE, LEAVING IT WET!
With all the cushions refitted, I then brushed the fabric to remove any tool marks left from the extraction stage. Going the extra mile really does make all the difference – the customer was astonished to see how much work actually went into cleaning the furniture!
So, it’s not just the firms who charge unrealistically low prices who cut corners, be aware that some of the larger franchises employ people who would appear to not put their heart and soul into the work!
