Leaking sunroof flooded car
A family car was subject to a serious flood caused by a leaking sunroof, resulting in a terrible odour.
Heavy rain contributed to the flooding filling the Skoda Octavia like a swimming pool.
A garage in Fleet, Hampshire located the cause of the leak, rectifying the problem quickly.
A hose carrying water from the sunroof drain channels had blocked and separated.
This is a common problem that can affect all vehicles, once the problem had been fixed, we were called by the garage.

Stripping out
The Mechanics removed all the seating and carpets to allow complete access to the sub flooring.
Water had soaked into the underlay located between the subfloor and the carpet.
Underlay is very absorbent and becomes brittle once wet, so extreme caution was used during removal.
Removing the water and drying
Extraction equipment was used to carefully remove the water from the underlay and carpets.
We then used an anti microbial product to sanitise the subflooring, carpet and underlay to ensure maximum cleanliness.
Working methodically, we were able to remove the odour caused by the leak, even rain water can carry bacteria.
Powerful drying equipment was then placed inside the vehicle, around the underlay and carpet to accelerate drying.
