The customer had purchased a used van and required the cab area to be thoroughly cleaned. The previous owner was a smoker and the smell of cigarettes was present in the head lining and seat fabric.
I started by removing all loose items and carried out a very thorough vacuum, I always use a power head attachment when cleaning fabric as this helps to loosen dry soils, making the next cleaning stage a tad easier.
The van’s headlining was then pre-conditioned using a detergent-free chemical with added oxidiser, and this chemical was applied lightly to avoid over wetting and then gently scrubbed.
When a vehicle has been smoked in, most of the tar and nicotine is trapped in the fabric above the smoker and this obviously needs to be extracted to help eliminate the odour.
Van seats cleaned and were dry and ready to use within 60 mins!

After the van’s headlining had been cleaned, the smell of cigarettes was completely removed! Once all the interior vinyl had been cleaned, it was time for the final stage of de-odorising. A vaporising machine with a special odour-neutralising cartridge was placed in the cab, with the van’s cooling system set to recirculate and left for approx 30 mins.
The customer was absolutely over the moon with the results. Clean and odour free !
