Paint spillage removal from a 2020 Audi
Disaster on the way to the local tip!!
A car paint spillage, leaked out on the carpet of this 2020 Audi
Lid came off the tin!
Customer was delivering old pots of paint to his local tip when the lid came loose.
Most of the paint spilt over the boot carpet and plastics.
Fortunately the paint was water based so applying a wet towel stopped the paint from drying.
If the white paint dries, removal is near impossible.
Time is critical
Keeping the area damp is very important, this delays the drying and gives us a much better chance of complete removal of the paint spillage. .
This Audi was filled with electronics and the paint could easily of made contact with expensive control modules!
The paint had actually leaked through the boot carpet and into the sub floor.
We completely removed all the items from the boot area.
The paint had made contact with the dark grey plastics, this had unfortunately discoloured them .
All carpeted areas were flushed using a special product to break down the bond between the acrylics in the paint and the fibres.
This is a very time consuming job and patients is the key.
All the sub floor was carefully decontaminated using MicroCleanse and completely flushed to remove all traces of the paint spillage.
After several hours of treatment we could see an improvement and the smell of the paint was definitely harder to detect.
Once all the affected areas had been flushed and cleaned, they were speed dried using powerful air moving equipment.
