Fabric protector using space aged technology
Years ago we used to refer to fabric and carpet protection as “ScotchGard”
As we all know, Scotchgard is actually a brand name for a water based product made by the chemical company 3M.
It was first discovered in 1952 purely by accident by two chemists working for 3M.
Since then most anti stain products have pretty much the same chemical ingredients, therefor most similar brands offer similar performance.
Nano technology has been around for some years, and its only recently we are now seeing it in everyday products such as fabric protectors.
As you can see from the video we coated a regular sports hat using our fabric protector, due to the size of the nano partials each fibre becomes coated creating a hydrophobic layer.
Water simply sheets off the surface instead of being absorbed, dust will also sit on the surface making vacuuming very easy.
Some people refer to fabric which has been treated using a nano product as “self cleaning”, well we all know that fabric doesn’t clean itself however, it will make maintenance cleaning easier and prolong the life of the fabric much the same as a wax protects paintwork.
